OddsModel enters into partnership with TV 2

Gaming Innovation Group Inc. (GIG) subsidiary OddsModel has signed an agreement with TV 2 AS, the largest commercial TV broadcaster in Norway, for the provision of betting related content in relation to TV 2’s editorial and TV sports coverage.

As part of the agreement, TV 2 football expert Jesper Mathisen will be engaged by GIG.

TV 2 has a broad range of exclusive media rights including Premier League, Tour De France, World Cup and Euro Cup, including the qualifications for these. TV 2 aims for a leading position in editorial and broadcasting coverage of sports, and through the agreement, GIG will contribute to TV 2’s editorial betting services.

Amongst the activities included in the agreement, TV 2 and OddsModel will jointly set up a studio in GIG’s offices in Kristiansand. The studio will be used for research, and during TV 2’s broadcasts, to present statistics, analysis and probabilities by Mathisen, staff of OM and invited guests.

In addition, content such as odds tips will be delivered to TV 2’s betting portal Sport & Spill.

OddsModel was acquired by GIG in March 2016. It uses proprietary quantitative data models and data feeds to provide real time probabilities and prices on sporting events. GIG is currently in the process of scaling up the OddsModel organization and technological capability for the goal of becoming a leading provider of odds and data for sporting events. OddsModel will launch a B2B service in 2017.

CEO of GIG Robin Eirik Reed comments; ”OddsModel is gaining grounds in its mission to become a leader in the provision of data-driven odds, and will now have a showroom to exhibit its capabilities. We are thrilled to work with TV 2, Jesper Mathisen and staff, and by adding high quality betting related content, contribute to make already excellent editorials and TV coverage for sports even better”.

Vegard Jansen Hagen, head of Sports, TV 2 Norway comments; “TV 2 sees great potential in the knowledge and technology OddsModel offers. Having Jesper Mathisen as a common driving force, it is the start of a very exciting partnership”.
